Perhaps you have some space in your vegetable garden besides the farmer cabbage and the leek? Or perhaps you have an empty spot of say a square meter in your garden? Then why not dig in loads of bulbs and grow a sea of cut flowers!
- When planting for your cutting garden, you can place the bulbs closer together than you would normally do. (100 up to 150 per square meter).
- Plant them with 2 cm of soil covering them (shallower than in your show border) It allows you to pull the plants with the bulb from the dirt during the season. Which is okay since the bulb will not be capable of reproducing in the next season, so discard those.
- Particularly the larger tulips and daffodils are very suitable in spring to decorate your home in a vase.
