Rudbeckia fulgida ‘Goldsturm’
Organic Black Eyed Susan
Black Eyed Susan has daisy-like flowers and a large heart. They’re indispensable in the garden, attract many butterflies and other insects, and make great cut flowers. Even after flowering, the faded flowers of this coneflower are decorative for a long time. The plants require a place in the sun in dry to normal soil with sufficient nutrition. Half shade is ok, but then the Rudbeckia will flower less abundantly.
After planting, make sure that the Black Eyed Susan doesn’t have too much competition from intrusive neighboring plants. They need space to develop. Excellent in the border, but is also indispensable in the prairie garden. Many plants go great with this coneflower, such as the tall Garden phlox (Phlox), Globe thistle (Echinops), Forest sage (Salvia), Liquorice plant (Agastache), Blazing star (Liatris), Bergamot (Monarda), and ornamental grasses.
