There are crocus mixes featuring a medley of colours. And then there’s this mix — pure purple and white, in three varieties that complement each other perfectly. Solid purple. Purple and white striped. Bright white. All from the same colour family, each with its own character, yet together forming a cohesive whole that always looks well-tended in the border or on the lawn without appearing contrived.
An early and bee-friendly mix
The crocuses in this mix are wild crocuses of the Crocus vernus variety — early-flowering, hardy and bee-friendly. They open wide in sunny weather, just as bees and bumblebees become active after winter. For pollinators, this pack is one of the earliest sources of food of the year. Plant them loosely throughout the lawn or border for the most spontaneous effect — no neat rows, just scattered.
Naturalisation and return
Once planted, the bulbs look after themselves. They naturalise of their own accord, return every year and spread slowly. Plant in autumn at a depth of 8–10 cm. After flowering, wait to mow until the foliage has turned yellow — this allows the bulb to store energy for the following season. The mix also combines beautifully with other early naturalisers such as Scilla Siberica or Puschkinia for added colour and variety. Organically grown, certified NL-BIO-01.
