Czaar Peter Mix - ORG

The Czaar Peter Mix is a carefully curated selection of organic naturalising bulbs that bring colour from early spring right through to late June. The four varieties bloom in succession, allowing you to enjoy flowers and an ever-changing garden landscape for months on end. From the first purple-and-white crocuses to the impressive flower clusters of Allium christophii: this mix is not only beautiful to look at, but also provides a valuable food source for wild bees, bumblebees and other pollinators.

Created in a street in Amsterdam

This flower bulb mix wasn’t conceived at a drafting table, but in collaboration with residents of Czaar Peterstraat in Amsterdam. They wanted to transform tree pits and façade gardens into vibrant, biodiverse spaces filled with organic flower bulbs. The result is a mix that continues to evolve throughout the seasons. First, the purple and white crocuses appear, followed by pink glory-of-the-snow and blue Siberian squill, which provide a colourful continuation. In May and June, Allium christophii brings the season to a close with its large, star-shaped flower clusters that seem to float above the rest of the planting.

Designed to naturalise

All four varieties have been chosen because they naturalise well. This means that, under the right conditions, the bulbs will slowly spread and reappear every spring. As a result, the flowering becomes a little more abundant each year, without you having to replant. The mix is at home in borders, tree pits, lawn edges and natural plantings, but thrives just as well in a spacious pot on a balcony or terrace. Plant the bulbs in the autumn in a sunny to lightly shaded spot in well-drained soil and allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering. This allows the bulbs to build up new energy for the following season.
