Daffodil - Narcissus Mix VELT - ORG

We have put together this mix in collaboration with VELT. Based on height, colour and flowering period — starting with the early Tête à Tête in February and ending with the fragrant Poet’s Daffodil in May. Twenty-five bulbs, five distinct varieties, one cohesive story.

Five varieties, each with its own moment

The Tête à Tête opens early with its small yellow flowers on short stems. The Minnow and Martinette follow — both small, multi-flowered daffodils that dance in the wind. Then comes the Thalia: pure white, elegant, with several flowers per stem. And to round it off, the Narcissus poeticus var. recurvus — the Poet’s Daffodil — appears in late April or May, wonderfully fragrant and in a league of its own compared to the rest. Together, they provide months of flowering.

This mix is not random. The varieties have been chosen for their flowering time, colour and height — a mix of low and tall, alternating yellow and white — so that the mix creates a varied yet cohesive whole in the border. All five varieties are bee-friendly and fragrant, each in its own season. Good for the garden, good for the bees, and good for anyone who wants to see something new blooming every week.

Planting and naturalisation

Planting and naturalisation Plant the bulbs in autumn, 10–15 cm deep, in a sunny to lightly shaded spot with nutrient-rich, well-drained soil. All five varieties naturalise easily and return every year. Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering before removing or mowing it. Organically grown, certified NL-BIO-01.
