Snails, the sneaky gluttons

You often only see them if you’re still working in your garden at dusk. And they eat almost everything that crosses their path. They especially love young plants and flowers. The only thing left the next morning is a faint, glistening, slimy snail trail. It doesn’t matter to them whether the plant is in the ground, in a pot, or in a container. They know how to find it..

So how do you prevent snails from eating your pots empty?

We’ve dedicated an entire blog post to this topic. But one of the options is copper tape. You wrap a strip around the entire pot, and your plant’s chances of survival increase significantly. It’s super easy to apply, because it’s basically just adhesive tape with a copper coating.

Copper tape is not harmful

The snails experience a mild shock when they touch the strip, and they find that very unpleasant. Usually, they then go looking for easier ways to forage. It’s also harmless to plants, so you can even use the tape around a trunk if needed.
