Allium Purple Rain flowers in May/June. The earlier the bulbs are planted in autumn, the earlier the flowers will bloom.

Alliums flower just after the “real” spring flowers and just before the first summer flowers, allowing you to create a garden that is always in bloom.

The flowers of Allium Purple Rain appear from May onwards and will enrich your garden or balcony for 3 to 4 weeks.

The rule of thumb is to dig a hole about 2-3 times the height of the bulb. For Allium Purple Rain, this means a depth of about 15 centimetres.

It is important to plant the bulbs at the correct depth so that they are sufficiently protected and will sprout at the right time.

The best time to plant Allium Purple Rain is in autumn. At that time, the soil is still warm, which is good for root development, but it is cooling down, which is ideal for the dormant period of the flower bulbs.

Plant your bulbs before the first frost, so they have the best chance of surviving the winter.

Place them in a dark, cool and dry place, such as a cellar or shed. Check regularly for mould or rot and replant them in the garden in the autumn.
