A bag full of bulbs. It may sound simple, but the choice of varieties is anything but random. The Bijentas 40 ST contains four organic varieties which, together, cover a flowering period of over three months — from the first crocuses in March to the impressive Allium Purple Sensation in June. For bees, this provides an uninterrupted supply. For the gardening enthusiast, it’s a new surprise every week.

Four varieties, one story

The crocus Romance opens in March with a soft yellow — understated, early-flowering and bee-friendly. Muscari Armeniacum follows in April with a radiant blue. The Tulipa Clusiana ‘Taco’ — a graceful, striped wild tulip in red and white — flowers a little later and naturalises beautifully. And to round things off, the Allium ‘Purple Sensation’ appears in June with large purple bulbs on long stems. Four varieties, each with its own moment.

Why this pack is special

Most bee-friendly plant packs are designed for either the early or late part of the season. This pack covers the whole of spring. That’s by design: bees need nectar not only in February, but also in May and June. By combining four varieties that each flower at a different time, you provide pollinators with a continuous food source from early spring to early summer. Clever, beautiful and good for nature.

Planting and gift-giving

The bulbs come in a lovely paper gift bag featuring a large, colourful illustration of the varieties — ready to give as a present. Would you like to plant them yourself? Do so in the autumn, in a sunny to lightly shaded spot. Plant crocuses and muscari 8 cm deep, Tulipa Clusiana ‘Taco’ 10 cm deep, and Allium ‘Purple Sensation’ 15 cm deep.
