• When should you sow vegetable seeds?
  That varies depending on the variety. Vegetables such as radishes, lettuce and peas can be sown directly outdoors from mid-spring onwards. Heat-loving varieties such as tomatoes, peppers and courgettes should be sown indoors or in a greenhouse earlier, so they can be transplanted out after the last frost in May.
• Which vegetable seeds are suitable for a balcony or small garden?
  Compact, fast-growing varieties such as radishes, leaf lettuce, basil and cherry tomatoes thrive in a pot or container. Sprouts are also a great option if you don’t have a garden: you can even grow them on your windowsill.
• What is the difference between sowing in a greenhouse and in the open ground?
  Sowing indoors or in a greenhouse gives heat-loving crops a head start: they can already germinate whilst it is still too cold outside. As soon as the risk of night frost has passed – usually in mid-May – the young plants can be moved outside.
• Why choose organic vegetable seeds?
  Organic vegetable seeds are grown without chemical pesticides, which is good for the soil, soil life and everything else that grows and lives in your vegetable garden.
• How do you store vegetable seeds you’re not using straight away?
  Store unused seeds in a dry, dark and cool place, preferably in their original packaging. This ensures they retain their germination capacity for as long as possible until the next sowing season.
